This week I took my camera and decided to take pictures of the brass musical instruments displayed in a shop's window to see what it would come out. Canon 30D, 1/200 sec, F/22, 28mm, Aperture priority, ISO- 1250, Handheld

I love the idea....but the reflections in the glass are putting me off a tiny bit..

a polarising filter would help cut back the reflections a little..

I love the shot of the instrument - would look heaps better if:

a. the background was black or
b. the background was more interesting ........... but you can't do much with a road :(

I do love the effect of the reflections on the brass though - really brings it to life :)

I really like this photo and my only constructive comment would be to take the view through the window to greyscale, leaving the instrument in colour.

I like the way you've done that.
If you timed it soo you have some movement in the reflection like a car or people walking across the road, even if the car had motion blur, the reflection wouldnt look so static and it would create more interest.
It also a pitty that you couldnt tape/put something on the road over that bright reflection down the bottom right to dull it down a bit. That one is a bit distracting.

I suppose you could call this one a double composure :)
1 for the instument and 1 for the reflection.

Also...

Thanks for the comments. I tried converting the reflection in B&W, but it did not come out very good. As you can see below the shop window isprotected by a mesh and removing part of the reflection would have left the picture out of contest. I also took:
