It goes against all the rules. No tripod, no exposure lock, no consistent overlap. Shot NEF and "normal" tone curve too.

Panorama Factory did an impressive job IMHO. Your thoughts?

Really cool. I like panos. Don't think I've tried it yet with the D70 yet! I couldn't see any joins. As you say impressive.

Here I go showing all my Pano novity (is that a word?).

In the case of this image it looks just like a normal image to me? Like you were standig there with a wide angle lens and took the photo.

I was always under the impression that Pano's were short and wide but a lot of the Pano's I see here are almost normal size?

There are a fair few products to sort through so far as panos go....

Thanks for your comments everyone. I was surprised that it turned out as well as it did. Maybe I can go back and review my pics of the Grand Canyon and make a massive pano montage.

There were some slight parallax errors - ie. bits in foreground joined up well, but background items showed slight misalignment - due to the non-optimal axis of rotation (I just swung the camera around as much as I felt like, just keeping an eye on the viewfinder gridlines lining up the horizon). I guess the resized/presented version was small enough to hide the 'seams'.

On second glance, Woody I'd have to agree with you - it does look like a single ultra-wide angle shot. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing... I'm relatively new to this panorama arena.

Nice use of distortion too. It adds depth to the image.

It's also a very nice spot to shoot from.
