Ahoy folks,

Took this one a few weeks ago from my block. There was a bushfire about 10 km's away and it was throwing up a fair bit of smoke, which made for a bit of a grovie sunset. SLight cropping and contrast.saturation PPing applied.

I'm thinking of getting this one printed big and framed. It's a little bit of something different for me.

C&C asked for, welcomed and considered!

Thanks for looking! :D

Love the contrast between the blue sky in one corner vs the deep red in the other :)

Only thing missing in this pic is for the tree to have cinders on it ;)

Hi Mate

Nice image very different from your normal, but I guess flames are still an element in the shot.

Nicely taken shot, don't tell me Bx is on fire? :) From which direction was the fire coming?

Love how the black tree stands out against the fiery red ... almost like it's already been burnt.
It reminds me of scenes from the movie "Lord of the Rings"

Thanks for the comments folks. It was one of those lucky shots.

The fire burned out about 1500 hectares, so it was only a little 'un. Probably not so little if your farm was on those hectares though.

Hopefully thats as close to the town as fires get this year.

nice silhouetting. what shutter speed was this taken at?

the only thing i like about bushfires is what they do to sunsets =]
(if that makes any sense)
