First attempt: Anne Geddes Style

Just mucking about in PP with old photos... Any comments ?

It's interesting, but the first things that came to mind were:
  • You need to practice your selections when transplanting the kid.
    You tried to cope with the rimlighting by bringing along some of the surrounding darkness, except it's darker than the background of the main image!
  • The flower is very obviously lit from the right, whereas the boy seems to be lit from the direction of the flower (which is relatively dark).
    It just doesn't look quite right.
Congratulations on giving it a shot though. Practice makes perfect...

Thanks for your comments. My selections are still quite rudimentary... slowly working on it...there is so much you can do with the mouse..
Interestingly I didn't notice the rim of black because the background is not very dark...I still can't see it after adjusting my monitor!
