Thanks for comments guys!
The 28-70/2.8 was just at home doing this kind of thing. It's one beautiful lens, and not a regret about the purchase decision.

I thought something similar at the time with the speedo - knocking the bike into gear while it was on the centre stand and getting the speedo cracking a bit... but then thought about it a bit more

- $25k of bike @ 200KG suddenly dropping the back wheel & getting traction with photog aboard flailing camera and arms about

.
The tacho idea would look pretty sweet if you got the timing and progress right (ie use the needle to build a gradient across the dial)
jammy2 wrote:All very well done..they definitely would not look out of place in a BMW brochure..was there any complex lighting set-up involved?
The lighting was all natural

These were all outside around 6pm (pre-DST) just on dusk with a fairly clean horizon (only a few trees, most likely the cause of the small reflection in the BMW logo in #1 as radar points out). Hand held, f/3.2-5 at ISO 200 for all.

Unfortunately this one ain't my bike, but I had oodles of fun when I took it for a squirt around the paddock

Fantastic machine indeed.
Rel, I'll see what I can do in the way of a dak-dak for next time
Old VW's provide great photographic material, particularly a Karmann Ghia if you stumble upon one!
