I like what you have captured in the second image, the torsion the rear tires undergo when the beast takes off, looks at the tire walls!!!

cheers for looking guys..

using my Tamron 70-300 i have trouble keeping the shutter above 1/300+ at night and have to use big iso's which is pretty bad on the D70. cant wait for an f2.8 to help out a little better..

Well done, good shots at the drags is always difficult .

A nice set of shots of the action involved in drag-racing, I like the second the best.

p.s: the media crew do get close to the action from the looks of your photo :)

Great work considering, and i hate using a high ISO and dont know how some people can get away with using it, but i guess depends on what you are doing with the pics but you have done well with these.

cheers people...

yeah i hate a big iso too, and avoid it whenever i can like most people i guess..

only a select 'lucky' few from the mags get a front row seat to the action, and it's the best spot to be. they shake the hell out of you..

stats:

approx 7000HP each, they do the 1/4 mile in 4.5 seconds @ over 500kmh and eat close to 90 litres of fuel for a burnout and pass, and 0-90kmh in 0.8/sec.

crazy stuff.

Nice shots mate. Doing really well with your setup, so I'm looking forward to seeing your shots with the VR.

I know theres a few a motorsports fans here (hiding amoung the bug photographers) that would like to go to the WSID.

Maybe a chance for a meet?

Cheers!
