My lightning shot

Don't want to steal Stargazers thunder(groan) with his POTW which is much better than mine, but I thought this was interesting for the thickness of the lightning bolt. Taken in Rome, that's the Pantheon roof you can see. No tripod, just a braced monopod which is why it's on a bit of an angle.

Looks like you were relatively close to the lightning...was it very loud?

You may like to adjust to curves to make it darker so the ambient light is minimal...

Seriously loud ! That was uncropped from 18mm...

I'll have a play with curves, I'm not much chop at PP.

Thanks, Chris.

In PS, open image, go to IMAGE-ROTATE-ARBITRARY- then maybe adjust 4-5deg CW, re-crop and you'll have a great image!

Edit: 3.5 deg or 4 deg will most probably do.
