An image is only cliched when a stylistic device is copied. Your Opera House image is as fine as any I have ever seen....including my own. Good work! Your Bridge shots are individual and stand out because of that. Again...Well done! Millions of people have photographed these 2 structures and your images are way up with some of the best. Your challange now is to go back and get even better images. That last 1 percent of brilliance is the hardest to get. Regards

I really really like that first shot matey! Well done.
However, im not sure i like those lights streakign across it. A perfectly calm night with still water so you can see the reflections would top it off i reckon! MattyO

Thommo, I can now see them and compliment you on those. We shouldn't be embarressed taking some of our national icons, even if we have seen them once or twice before. I like them all, like MattyO I would prefer 1 without the ferry lights. For me, and only my opinion, I would have tried in 3 say f8 -f11 instead of f4.5 to reduce the flare of the city lights. I find the lights are just a bit bright in the background for me.

What Matt says about cliche is spot on. As for the pics - the first image is let down by the streaks of light for me. The second is my pick of the three - it's superbly framed with the railing having those little squares of reflected colour and that lifts the image to a whole different level. #3 is damn good too. Thommo, now they are showing up (they weren't at my last post, I clicked through) can you shrink them down to our maximum size of 800 pixels on any dimension? See how we know have to scroll to read the comments, worse for those on smaller laptops. Keeps the board usable for all and ensure you get some critique/comments as people can read the prior comments
