TONGUE ?!

I was out walking yesterday when I came across hundreds of bees all just 'sitting' on this slime by a river bank.

It wasn't until I got back home and had a look at the photos that I realised what they were doing - drinking and/or eating. I don't know if this is common but I thought it was a bit unusual so I thought I'd post the pics.

I had a bit of trouble with the DOF, I dunno if it's my lack of skill or the lens but I struggle to get the focus spot on doing macros at the minimum focusing distance with this lens.

I think this first one is reasonable, the other 2 are a bit bee-low average but they clearly show the tongue.

The first image is excellent! The boke is beautiful and the colours spot on. You don't need the other 2 images. It's always a temptation to show a series but they usually diminish in quality. Nicely done anyway.

That first image is nice.

The other 2 images seem to be suffering from camera shake more than DOF problems.

The first macro-bee looks very impressive...I particularly like the shimmering on the wings =)
