The first pic I have called foreboding weather - very much like today in Sydney.

I then took it into Paint and made a new pic called alien landscape - hence what to do on a wet Sydney day!

Chris, Love the landscape. The opening in the clouds is just in the right spot! Very interesting and creative 2nd pic.

So do I mudder - I lived in Shaftesbury Ave in the 60’s a hop and jump from Soho where I used to wander with my Nikkormat FTn - and Carnaby St was five minutes away - ah those were the days

Today I have utilised the bad/rainy weather to teach myself more photoshop skills and begin post processing the wedding I shot yesterday..perfect day for it and I don't feel guilty for 'wasting' the day away. Hope everyone has had a restful week end! Nice photos too Chris, very abstract, but very interesting!

Probably. But I thank you for the photos that resulted. Herewith my decidedly un expert comments

#1 - doesn't grab me - it seems washed out somehow
#2 - now that's what rainy days are for. Love the mundane made beautiful.
#4 - having seen this and some of the others I'm guessing I either need to start taking shots of flowers in the rain or else walk around with a water mister bottle :lol:

I really like the shadows in this, with the second layer of petals being in focus, but softer. And no background distractions.
#7 - my favourite. Really good DOF and you feel like the water is about to drip off the screen.

Can't keep the camera dry. It just gets wet. Light showers should do no harm.

Thanks. But I rarely work from a tripod. In fact as I was walking around today in the rain I had an idea for exactly what it was that I needed. I am going to try and design it....something so simple yet so effective. Maybe get together with Birddog and get a patent and produce it.

Not so ridiculous...but too expensive! An effective waterprrof cover for shooting in the rain should cost no more than $40. It aint rocket science!

Your first posted picture has a great deal of potential. I don't think you have explored all the PP possibilities. Keep reworking it until you make it fit your vision.
