Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Talk about killing off a good tradition...
After the fact that the October ES proposed by me didn't attract a single entry, and subsequently the ES November didn't happen, I decided I wouldn't have its blood on my hands, and will now try to kick it back to life again. Actually, I knew all along that it was the mods' fault for not sticky'ing the thread...
So here is the December exercise in style, titled distortion. What I'm after is any kind of distortion caused by extreme perspective or lens shortcomings or digital playfulness or other reasons that would normally be considered a flaw or bad manners, but works well for that particular image.
I'd like to offer this one to kick the thread off, a fish-eye shot that fits the description easily and conveniently, but represents by no means the only kind of distortion I had in mind...
Cheers
Steffen.

Ah, I'd forgotten about the ES! Thank you for reviving it Steffen. Perhaps a mod will sticky this time? (Hint, hint )
Cheers,

Very interesting, you've captured the sun twice in the same image...

Yep Glen - Nikon F2 Photomic with (if I remember correctly) the 16mm f/3.5 full frame fisheye. I worked for John Border Photographics at the time and we had just received the lens for evaluation. This would put the date around 1974.
Steffen - that’s why I liked this shot because of the two sun flares

C’mon people let’s get this going - for anyone new that does not understand the principle of ES - just submit a pic during the month of December to this thread that shows distortion. . .

Are we specifying it as lens distortion specifically? Or can it be any sort of distortion?

Any. Go ahead, knock yourself out. Only citerion is that the distortion is a main feature of the image.

I thought the idea was that you had to have taken the photo during the month of December?
