Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Ahoy folks.
I got 'volunteered' on the weekend to photograph a wedding in Sydney for a friend of my wifes. It was a harbour cruise wedding, and so I was on the Harbour when the worlds heaviest rainstorm hit on Saturday afternoon.
To cut a long story short, light was limited at best, as was constantly changing between poor and very poor. I had to use the speedlight, but at about 1/16 it's power just for slight fill light. I shot in RAW to allow for more creativity in PP.
D70 with Sigma 24-70 F/2.8. ISO about 640.
I'm curious what any of you think of my first attempt at wedding photography. Please C&C!
Thanks for looking!

Nice stuff Alan. In 1 I think you allowed the natural propensity of people to lean against walls, poles to get the better of this shot. I think the pole/mast coming from the grooms head and line from the brides spoils it a bit. I would imagine that is what the clone tool is for. In three I would have preferred the happy to couple to cover North Sydney and leave the OH a little more exposed.

Glen, thanks for that. I've just had a quick play with the cloning tool and it makes it look a million times better (well, maybe not a million....)
Before the happy couple get the images I will clone away!!
Thanks for the comment!

Glad it looks better Alan. Its hard when you are looking at the happy couple and getting them smiling, etc to notice the background.

Alan,
Can I also suggest to clone the black crane (the one that comes out from the side of the photo). Hope you know the one I'm talking about. The others on the left are ok just that the right hand side is a little distracting.
Great pics though,
Regards
Bill

is it possible (or appropriate??!?) to desaturate the red around her nose too? It looks like she has a bad cold. Otherwise I agree with Glen, nice shots otherwise
