Well, I'm back at it. Some of you may remember a shot I posted a couple of weeks ago:

I have revisited the setup in light of the comments I received. I bought a new coffee table so that the model can stretch out a bit looking more natural and I used a different (wider) lens which I purchased yesterday. I also got rid of the shoes. Your comments and critique are very welcome.

Hey Alex,

Good to see your idea progressing, (BTW which lens did you pick up?).

The lighting hot spot on her far forearm is a little distracting (I also prefered the shoes..that or perhaps the toes curled or pointed so that only her heals are on the table). The flat foot on the coffee table isn't as appealing (that's just me). There is a little less thigh showing in this one.. (not sure if thats intentional) but its a little less provokative because of it and the slightly lessen detail in the silhouette.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, there is less detail in this one and it's more of a silhouette - I was aiming for that this time by keeping less detail in shadow. I think I prefer the lighting in the first one.

oooh, Nice And I tend to agree I prefer the light more on the first (as a whole).

I mean this comment seriously - is it possible to shoot this without a dress, or a more figure hugging dress perhaps? I admire your use of lighting (I certainly couldnt acheive what you have done!), but I find the wrinkles in the dress detract from the image...

Agree with Chris, for the image to work you need the model to be naked or have her wear a swimsuit
