But yes, Rel certainly sets a high standard.

Thanks for the comments guys - and Craig, don't you DARE give up macro - I just get lucky sometimes
As for the set up - 105mm 2.8 Nikon, SB800 on board (GN setting @ 2.2metres) with cap - seems to give nice even light (even though pretty bright), but ensures no nasty shadows behind, handheld.
f22, 1/250 @ iso 200 on the D70.
The shot was taken at 7.30pm on a very rainy night (Monday), so the fly was at rest on the plant - and not easily disturbed. If you can find insects at night at rest, makes life a hell of a lot easier

Out of interest, what approximate working distance did this require using the 105mm. I would have thought that something like a 150mm would have been needed to capture flighty critters like these.
