Egypt - views from the Nile
Hi all,
Sorry for my lack of posts lately. I just returned from a 2 week trip to Egypt and I'll be posting some selection as I got through them, if I ever get through them all that is as I went a little too click-happy. Anyway, the images : 
Colour may be a fair bit off as I'm still not sure why different applications in Mac display colour differently =\. C&C are most welcome. Abel

i like the third shot very moody I remember seeing lots of those water towers around too i was there last year and this time of year its winter in egypt but its still quite hot and the best thing the suns out lets see more

Mick : The trip was great, though if I would reccomend anyone going there to cut down on the number of temples they plan to visit from their program. They all start to look the same after a while. Do 3-4 (Abu Simbel, Karnak, and perhaps Hatshepshut being the must visit ones IMHO) and include more of the "other" faces of egypt, its such a diverse country!! The Sinai region in particular gets so little visitors and yet amazingly beautiful. The highlights of the trip are definitely dealing with those merchants that swarm you whenever you exit a tourist site and the visit inside the Pyramid. I'll refrain from spoiling you, but suffice to say it's not a very glamorous experience, and that you will chuckle whenever you remember it for years to come. Wendell : coming for you that compliment really means alot. You're right, those electricity towers were everywhere. Seeing them accross the sanddunes were pretty cool too. Apparently exporting Electricity to neighboring countries was a pretty big business for them. Abel

currently those electricity towers transport energy to some suburbs in lower egypt, the source of the power is hydro electrics harnesssing power from Lake Nasser when the nile floods theres heaps of historical irony about this dam and its effect on the nile the displacement of abu simbel and current politics in egypt lets see pics of the pyramids i thought they were really hard to photograph capturing their sheer scale
