Emily Low key
Guys, after tanking some shots in my aquarium i decided to take a few shots of emily while she was lying on the lounge.... best ones were where i bounced the sb800 off the roof and under exposed a touch for a low key effect.. pics were all taken with sigma 105mm f2.8...

I think they've got potential, but they're not there yet. There is too much dead space on the right hand side of the image, it's like you've focused using the centre dot and not recomposed afterwards.
Lighting I think is good, perhaps reflecting some light from underneath is a good idea if you're bouncing the flash. Cute baby and I'm sure there are many more photo opportunities ahead.

#1 just doesn't do much for me at all. #2 and #3 are big improvements in my opinion, however have u considered a 90 degree counter-clockwise flip? I think this would work more so in the last one. The shadow in the last one lets it down a little as her little head blends (too much I think) into the black background, i know you've gone for a low key effect here but it's too much IMHO. Nicely done however, keep shooting and post some more. Out of curiosity, what colour is the lounge? I'm assuminig black but anything is possible with some intuitive PP right? Geoff

About 1 Stop was enough actually probably too much i think if i underexposed by about 1/3 of a stop and got the low key effect in photos hop i'd end up with a more pleasing image.......
The Lounge is Navy blue velour (spelling) absorbs stray light nicley
Im gonna have a play with that last shot and post what i come up with........I agree about all the comments with regards composition i was more pleased with the effect rather than the actuall images  Please don't use or edit my images.

Black & white are much better! The colours in the originals were the let down.
The images are a little too sharp for my liking...yes, you can over sharpen...and I think a tad of softness is called for. Other than those niggles I think the images are very good. Babies often photograph better in soft window light without the aid of flash. Regards

Black and white is indeed better. I found the white balance a little off on my screen also.
