Opening night of Sydney Festival 2007 featured a very fast paced dynamic contemporary dance performance. I don't get to shoot much performance based art so my current technique wasn't nearly up to spec.

lighting was very low so i shot with the 70-200 manual f2.8 1/160-200, ISO800-1600
AF-C mode

nice piece of set design the musician is behind a semi opaque wall.

Nice Wendell. No. 1 would be my favourite. Love the symmetry.

As mentioned, great work :)

Number 2 grabs me, must be the action

I keep on going back to look at these images...they draw me in...number two for me...I like the slightly blurred hand...and the face in the background adds an eerie feel to it..:)

I'm with Bindii on these Wendell. They are very powerful images and draw me back to view again and again.

#1 is great, but #2 rewards repeat viewings more. Brilliant work.

There are some cracker shots in your gallery too. Love this one for it's wonderful composition and balance:

hi thankyou guys, i appreciate it

I always opted to shoot dance/theatre ever since i picked up the camera
it's such an expressive thing to shoot

clearly i need to work on my technique as i have lots of high paced action shots of actual dance moves i didn't include but they were all blurry

got to shoot no less than 1/250 and at higher iso to compensate
