at the field of corn...



Two layers, the top right corner has been blended in which has lead to some white patches behind the tree. Comments on whether this looks too unnatural are appreciated.

Just looking at it on the work monitor, which is calibrated with the same spyder that my home one is and it looks a lot darker than it did at home.

Will re-adjust tonight and see how it goes.

I will suggest a fill flash for the foreground, from here I cannot really see it is a corn field until I read it from your post

Owen - I really like this shot. To me the mere hint of the corn tips adds to the emergence/setting of the sun and the superb sky.

There is mystery in the shot that the Children of the Corn would love

Hi Chris. That is what I was attempting to do, but rather have the highlights on the tips of the corn things providing a more definite outline though... I still think it's a bit dark.

YiP, I thought about using flash, but felt it would fall off too quickly in this setting. Might try it if I venture out again though, thanks.

It doesn't help that I've been trying to process the latest images in Gimpshop... which is quite buggy and lacking compared to photoshop.

a very nice shot. I like the way you have captured the highlights on the tips of the corn. You caught the sun at the perfect time.

The white patches in the tree doesn't really bother me. There is too much interest in the rest of the photo to be bothered by the few patches.

Thanks Andre, i was curious to see what people think about the white patches, perhaps they stand out more to me because I am very aware that they're there.

Owen good pic, in particular how the sun is creeping over the hill. The crorn feld looks fresh..

I really like this as it is Owen.

I didn't grow corn but this really gives the feel of being on the farm in the evening. I can just imagine standing on the verandah looking out over the fields of corn.

And as Chris said - there is that added Children of the Corn feeling there as well.

Owen I like this too. The dark corn and the orange sun are in harmony. If the corn was too light the scene would be unnatural.
