I know this is a very dark image, but that's how it's planned. Comments welcome. I feel like it is lacking something, perhaps something in the distance but I'm not sure.

Owen - nothing lacking about this!
Has a really eery feeling of a pending storm which is what is happening I guess.
I think it's a good shot.

I think this is a good shot. It has the small space as the focal point in the backgound. I like it dark as well.

Owen, if the result is what you were after then well done. The rough texture of the road adds plenty of foreground interest with the white lines creating depth. Excellent!!

I usually don't like dark images, but this one is very nice, I think because of the great texture in the road.....

it is missing the chicken :)

enough of the silly comments... this is a great shot and I like the darkness of it
the only thing I would do is brighten up the lines to help balance out the bright sky and to really draw you down into the image

I like this shot and don't find it too dark, either. However, it doesn't convey the brooding storm atmosphere to me, but rather a clearing up after the storm feeling. You know, that silver lining on the horizon sort of thing...

Cheers
Steffen.

Owen,
That is a wonderful image...well done !

A great example of using a different "Point of View" to increase interest into the shot.

Sheepie - Owen's image is somewhat similar to what I was eluding to in your previous thread HERE :)

Thanks for the comments guys, very much appreciated.

The lines were an issue for me, I wanted to have them appearing whiter but they were quite dull to begin with.

Taken with the tokina 12-24 @12 mm, f9 focused as close as possible.

hehe trust me, the storm wasn't clearing - I got pretty wet afterwards :)

That is what it looks like to me as well, I think it is the light at the end of the road that signifies that there is a light at the end and the storm / darkness is breaking.

I love the atmosphere to the photo though. Well thought out and shot!
