A big ugly one I'd say Pa :)
Looks like the same species as the one I tried photographing the other night.

Common Huntsman by the looks of it. http://www.amonline.net.au/factsheets/h ... piders.htm

Not so scary. I usually have a few of these in the house. They stay high on the walls and ceiling or they are evicted. BTW, I prefer a bite from a huntsman than a bee sting! :)

Huntsman all right. The only thing I dont like about them is that they poo all over my floor. The other half makes me evict the larger ones.

sure its a huntsman??? the ones down here seem like there legs are more spread out to the side and closer together.....
I ^%$^$%ing hate spiders.....being a kiwi the biggest over there is about 50c size!
i get my MRS to kill/evict any from the house lol! i spazz out when i see them!

argh, gimme spiders over snakes anyday :)

I was reading the other day that there is a spider that actually weaves a 'net' and then throws it up in the air to catch its prey can for the life of me remember what the name of it is tho!.... Rel? :)

And then you have to go scrape your boots? Only in Australia will you find spiders that big! :D :D :D

That would be a fisherman spider or net casting spider. They set up over an light colouerd space so they can see their prey. Awsome ti watch.
