Sydney Festival event Mamootot by the famed Batsheva dance company

It was a really beautiful contemporary dance, lots of interpretive freestyling with lots of artistic direction

the scene was backlit and lowlit so i shot iso1600 1/250 f2.8, group dynamic AF-C pattern closest subject priority on the 70-200
i worked out though even with the predictive focussing i got lots of miss focuses, still working out which one is beter AFC- single area focus with lots of focus twiddling or the predictive focus group dynamic method

i increased levels to make the white background blow out, to give it that ethereal quality

This is probably one of the best dance events at Sydney Festival
i'd watch it twice over

Cool shots Wendell. And yes I agree with you they have an ethereal quality. Almost like the stuff I would expect to see in a new age sci-fi type of tale.
I like the "blown" b/g as it enhances that effect.

Perhaps you could have cropped the left hand side of the first shot a little and I think it would be a cracker IMHO.

Well done Wendell.

Cheers, Mick :) :) :)
