Now this is a rare sight - comet mcnaught is visible during the daytime and over the next few nights after sunset should put on a great show in the south west sky.. This is not technically an impressive photo but the subject matter is history as it is easily the brightest comet for well over a decade.. make sure you go out and have a look!!
This one taken in the arvo with a 400mm and 2x on it..

later in the evening..
Image yes that is cloud at the bottom, taken from mt lofty with the 400mm

Even without the comet #2 is nice.

I'm really looking forward to getting a look at this one. I do need to get a mount for the Telescope.

Second photo is really good, took me a little while to find the comet though ;)

Big V - I would like to thank you and Blair for last night experience at Mount Lofty. Believe it or not, but I can now see the comet in the sunset shots. BTW: Great captures.

very nice! I tried to spot it but we had clouds in the western skies. I suppose I'll have to wait until I'm 100 or something to see haylies comet now :(

This comet will be around for a while so dont fret if you miss it tonight.. John, coming from the south how can you even dream that last night was cold? Oh well I will see you and Fozzie tonight and we will do it all again and it will be brighter and have better contrast!!!
