Some studio + photoshop fun

This is something I was playing around with a couple of months ago. We did a lot of little things "different" with our wedding, just to make it a bit more personal and memorable.. Like getting personalised little chocolate wrappers with our pictures on them and a thank you note to go on everyone's place on the tables. And designing our own little logo to go on the invites, menus etc.
We went with a bit of a footy theme because we are both footy tragics. Instead of chucking bouquets and garters, we tossed mini footballs, boundary umpire style. The colours were navy blue for Geelong (pfffttt) and red for the mighty bloods.
So anyway, I thought it would be hilarious to do something a bit different for our order of service booklets to be handed out before the ceremony. Why not mock up a front page that looks like a copy of the Footy Record, that you'd buy before you went into the MCG, or Telstra Stadium.
So, I had a concept in mind but I had to get the shots first. My studio consisted of our living room, a light bedsheet held up by microphone stands (!) and a single SB-800 fired wirelessly off-shot to the left (plus some fill flash from the D200's onboard flash).
First, a shot of my replica 2005 premiership trophy:
It must be said that it is BLOODY HARD to get good shots of shiny things because you get reflections of EVERYTHING in them. Next, we had to get shots of us in silly poses....
.. and then hack them all together in photoshop, including placing the logo I designed for the wedding on the trophy
Obviously I haven't posted the many dozens of dud shots, experimental poses etc etc etc... Just thought I'd share my little fun experiment - they were a roaring success on the day, people loved the front cover, and thought it was "very us"
