Just popped out for a quick lunch break and found this little fellow under a leaf. Hopefully this afternoon after work I'll get out and try to get some better shots with better composition.

I know.. I know.. the shadows are horrible and the light is all wrong

From what I can tell it's a Lynx Spider (Oxyopes elegans - http://www.usq.edu.au/spider/find/spiders/544.htm).

man that is a weird little thing!, hows about the eyes! look like disco rotating lights! and spiny legs! how big is he?

about 5 or 6mm .....

going to go and look for some more later after work.. really want a front on shot at the same level...

that's a nice image mark.it looks like a walking cactus.

I'm very new to this and amazed at how much detail there is on small critters. From a normal point of view I would have had no idea it had spikes on it's legs. Loving this macro stuff
