I took today off for a rental inspection, and went for a walk one of the first animals I saw was this red-bellied black snake. I wasn't able to get too many clear shots, but I did get to watch him swimming around.






And a lizard posing for the camera for good measure.

Where was this Craig?

The wetlands behind our house, that join up with Kiln Bay (or whatever, can't remember).

That's quite a large Red Belly Black!

Oh and there was a good distance between me and the snake, I didn't feel threatened.

At least this red belly swam away from you.
They have been aggressive this year by all accounts and experience.
Our dog decided to protect us from one up near the house last week end and thakfully did not get a scratch on him. Can't say the same for the poor snake though.

This guy was very active, infact he managed to get away from me so quickly I didnt get more then 8 shots of him.
