Melbourne Tonight

two from tonight, 7zark7 spotted the lights in the foyer at Federation Square, so we headed down there.

This was a test shot for exposure, and composition, before mounting my camera to the tripod, however, it was the favourite of that set... (funny how it works out that way). This is a helix of blue lights.

Secondly, my first snap of the flinder street station at night. Was lots of movement there tonight, as a busy saturday with the Australian Open in town (oh, Melbourne and its plethora of annual international events...)

One thing I'd like to move out of Brisbane, not as busy as Sydney or Melbourne!

Anyway, second one is good, though might of been a bit better with a long exposure.

The first one just reminds me something we did in one of the Brisbane meets. Which was amazingly fun yet frustrating.

you may have guessed i was a little more eager to get some sleep at 1/4 past two in the morning than Oz was.

your feedback is most appreciated.

p.s. these are the very very small versions and as such the quality is a little diminished

oh yeah please ignore the typo on the third picture :D it's sunday and i'm too lazy to worry about it.

Wow, the 10.5 Fish Eye. Great examples (7zark7's #1 and #2) of a prime.

You are shooting directly into the hotlights on the foyer ceiling, and the star shapes are sensational!!! Coupled with no lens flare. What a great lens!

I like your cropping of the #3 image. However, would love to see it de-fished. Perhaps someone can advise on how this is done in PS2???

yeah the more i get to use it the more i like the 10.5mm it's a really really nice piece of glass.

de-fished, i know photo shop is good but can you seriously take out the bulge from a 10.5?

ok challenge time i'll post up the original and we can leave it to the experts to de-fish and share how to do it.

i'll cut the file size down first though.
