Thanks for the comments Yip and Pa.
It's the first time it's flowered since we planted some water lillies in the pond about 3 years ago. If only we could work out what we did right to finally get it to flower.

Thanks Matt, I've been using the black backgrounds for a while now with my flower shots. I find that especially at flower shows where there is a lot of clutter in the background, it's a good way to isolate the subjects. The only downside is it tends to be a bit time consuming in photoshop to get the effect.
