I was impressed by the textures when I took this shot. The nice clouds, the fence post and the grass. I used the onboard flash to light the post up.

Comments welcome.

Great shot Owen. I know this is what you were probably after, but for me it's just a touch TOO blue. Great image nonetheless

Thanks stubbsy. Yep, decreased saturation and adjusted the temperature of the shot to get the blue effect. :)

Cheers,
Owen.

Owen, I love this type of shot and this one is pretty cool. I'd like to have seen the whole post lit up but that's a niggle.

I've tried experimenting with this and if you put a warming gel over the flash head it can give the flash illuminated object this warm feeling whilst the background and sky is blue.

Thanks for the suggestion matt. Sounds interesting.. can celophane be used instead of gel?

This image has quite a striking impact about it, and the clouds definitely make it!

Yes! and cheap too, not to mention easy to obtain (metres of it from Big W for $2!) :D

I used celophane over a SB-600 & 800 for my Built Ford Tough image.

Thanks Daniel. I'll give it a shot. I like the effect you got with those images.

Cheers,
Owen.

This is great Owen.
I would like to see the grass at the base and the wire darkened a little.
IMO that would probably lift the post a bit more.
Regards Colin

I love how the fence post fades into a silhoutte and the mood of the picture. Very Nice Shot.
