The rose is beautiful and sharp Geoff! The background is nicely blurred, but I am undecided about the stems....

If you ignore the stems a bit, it looks like the rose is suspended in air, almost coming out of the screen. Very nice and sharp.

Wasn't sure about this one on my LCD, but on my CRT this just glows, lovely.

I find the stems a little distracting too Geoff.
Nice blown flower, you mostly see people taking buds.

Perfect Geoff. And I love the stems, gives it contrast and strength and some edgyness. Great work.

Geoff I like this too. The stems ARE distracting, but the fact they are in silhouette and the tonal similarity of the rose and its background make it for me.

even at f4.5 the quality of the bokeh is creambusto!
test the lens at night and see how much beautiful colour depth it has at f1.4
