Mybe try using lower ISO and shutter, surley u can handhold less than 1/250th, they are extremley noisy. ISO 1000 and 1/100 could be better
Cool looking show though.

1/250th was probably to freeze the motion fisha.

it was an awesome show the best production from Sydney Festival

fisha i could of gone all the way down to 1/70 and let the VR do the work
but the light was so low and the action so fast had to shoot at 1/250
minimum

also vr slows down the focus performance of the lens and in dance when the subject is moving back and forth i need as much focus speed as possible so i turned VR off

I kind of think the noise adds something to the shots - grainy, gritty and almost industrial
