The other halfThis is a portrait I took yesterday in a park of my other half. Any comments and critique are welcome. Do you find the background too distructive? Would you crop more on the left?
![]() Thanks Alex
hi alex
this one is much better profile is beautiful background is creamy as thats good i get to focus on the face more rather than leafs just pay more attention on framing theres a black bit of hair left side that could be cropped out for a tighter shot and re-position so head is closer to the right side of the frame(less hair) others may say tight crop chopping off forehead is bad composition but depending on how you do it it could improve it and as for tone bluish tones are contrasting harmonies to orange tones more so than green so try one with a sky blue background food for thought anyway just my opinion
Thanks for the comments and suggestions, Wendell. I deliberately went for a tighter crop in this one, but I see what you mean about some stray hair - was a windy day
![]() Cheers Alex
I like the bokeh and the skin tones and texture are very appealing. I'm undecided about this crop, if your going close, I'd probably go closer.
Thanks for the comments, Craig. Yes, I'm not sure whether an even tighter crop would work better.
