A few shots from East Africa

Now that I'm here i figure I should get some shots here for comment. These are 3 shots I took in July 06 on a trip through East Africa. Believe t or not I'm yet to sort them all, about 2700 all up, but these are among the best I think. Any and all comments appreciated, though I don't think I'll be able to have another go anytime soon!!!

A juvenile highland Gorilla in the mountains of Uganda, just near the borders of the Congo and Rwanda. Was a trek to get in there but it was worth it to be near these creatures for an hour!

A Cheeta on the plains of the Masai Mara. These were 3 juveniles, aparently brothers, who were hanging out together just watching the world go by. The other two were lying in the grass so I focused on the guy sitting up... to the tune of about 30 shots from memory!

A shot while Hot Air Balooning over the Masai Mara in Kenya at dawn. This was taken from our baloon of the other balloon following us. Was an amazing day, we actually landed in the middle of the wildebeast migration, then had a champagne breakfast there... brilliant.

All images shot on a Pentax *ist DL, the first two with a Sigma 50-500 and the last wit the sigma 18-125. If people are interested in seeing some more it may spur me to finally organise all of the images and get them out for people to see.

Cheers.

About time we (Kate and I) finally see some of your africa photos, and well I'm keen for more, the cheetah is my favourite, then probably the balloon, the gorrilla is cute, but looks a little softish.

The hot air balloon ride must of been an awesome experience and a great way to watch the sun come up over such a wild environment.

Yeah I know, I'm slow!! Cheetah is my fav as well, and the gorilla is a tad soft, as are many of my shots from that day. Was tough shooting moving creatures in lowish light standing on uneven groubd covered in vegetation!!! Fun tho... I must go through them again, I think there are a couple of sharper ones.

Cheers.

Love the second and third - it's always great to see animals in their natural environment. Definitely post more shots from your trip!
