This is a slender bee fly, of the Family Bombyliidae, Subfamily Gerontinae. This little one was feeding on a flower of blue billy goat weed (Ageratum houstonianum), and was approximately 5mm :)

Cute huh?

These guys are parasites of certain groups of moths in the larval form, and feed on nectar and pollen as adults :)

Thanks B01NG :)
The shot has been cropped, but was taken with the Nikon 105 2.8 macro, SB800, PJ Lightsphere, and diffusion dome :)

f22, 1/250, iso 200 and SB800 on GN 2.2m

I like the nice even light over the copmound eyes Rel.
Did you pull out the Ageratum after you took the shot?
