Fire from yesterday afternoon.

These pics are from after it jumped a 4 lane highway, normal chaos meant only 1 tanker was trying to stop the spotover while 3 other tankers drove right on past.
Only once it got hold and the tanker had to pull back did the choppers start coming in and by that time it was too late.

great pics that tell a story. extraordinary inferno, wouldn't like to be to close to that.

well i've just heard that after this got hold 6 houses have been lost, its still burning now.

as much as fire & rescue do over here, they spend way to much time trying to put out stuff after the fire front has passed and virtually no time fighting the actual front.

i was there when this fire jumped to the side of the road with houses and only one unit attempted to fight it, and that was a volunteer brigade. 2 fire and rescue trucks and one fast attack drove straight past.
