Just a simple shot taken at Bateau Bay beach. I liked the way the sun tried to break up the stair pattern...

C&C as always very welcome.

Cheers

Its a good idea steffen....and you have exposed well considering the glary light you had to deal with...but its not working for me as is stands...although I think it would make a great image for an arty type edit..:)

Hi Bindii,
I wasn't quite sure myself whether it worked or not, after fiddling with something for a while you don't tend to see anymore what others see...

Thanks very much for your comment anyhow, I'm not having much luck lately getting even as much as a slamming of my pics out of the audience here...

Cheers
Steffen.

If the image was balanced more with an equal amount of handrail on each side would be an improvement. Then give it some real contrast and see what happens. :D

Thanks Craig,
funny you should say this, my very first impulse was to do the symmetrical cropping. I'm a bit of a symmetry nut, after all. However I ended up picking the off-centre version. Also, the contrast was at first higher, I flattened it a bit because the original starkness didn't quite gel with the idea of sunlight. For the same reason I ended up tinting the image a little bit warmer after b/w conversion.

I gave up PPing it after a while, I guess I didn't think the shot warranted as much attenion as I first thought. You've rekindled my interest... :)

Cheers
Steffen.
