What I call the golden bum ant, but usually known as the Golden Spiny Ant or Elegant spiny ant, Polyrhachis (Hagiomyrma) species of the subfamily Formicinae.
I was about to hang up the washing, and these silly buggers had decided theat the peg basket was a good place to start up a nest !!!! Well, they are pretty much mistaken, but I took a few shots before they moved on to another location.
This adult ant has an ant larvae in its mouth, and the bown papery things it is standing on are the ant pupae
