This is my little spud.
I realy would like a critique of this image. I am new to portraiture and need all the help I can get. This was taken with my nikkor 105 macro as it is the only lense I posses apart from the kit lense at present.

Colin,
This shots an interesting one.. the tones are very subdue, and other then the eyes and eyelashes the rests is almost all the same.. But then the detail in the lower eye jumps out..
The whole affect kind of makes me feel like its a advanced ultrasound, thats still monochrome, and takes DOF but gives you a sneak peak of Baby Amelia (I hope I got that right) kicking back inside the womb.
I'm not sure if rotating the image CW 90 degrees wouldn't give it a completely different affect.. but at this orientation is definitely has a laid back, baby relaxing feel to it.

Thanks Alpha.
It looks a little odd to me at 90 degrees, but that could just be me.
Any one else like to help out with anything that might improve my efforts?

Colin,
I am undecided on this one, but tending towards "wow!"
The angle is most unusual, the treatment pearhaps a tad soft.
But it's the angle that is what I think is hooking me on this one. Maybe shooting at about f/5.6 or f/8 to bring the other eye into sharper focus? I dunno.
It's intriguing, it's different, it's making me sit up and take notice. None of those outcomes is bad.

What Gary said. It makes me look again and again but I'm not sure why.
