My fave is no.3 here Leigh and the great DOF. I also like the grainyness of no. 3 too.

Seems to be very flat/dull.

What is your IR workflow like?

Leigh, if the holographic effect is what you were after, I think it works best in #1. And very much so, the spikey thingie just pops out of the image. Interestingly only through escalation of sharpness and lightness.

Gotta try that myself one day.

I was actually going for that effect, Steffen. The sort of scientific photography that's seen from time to time. One of the artists who taught me at my old Uni did this sort of stuff.

Zeeps, I disagree about it being flat & dull, but the IR is done via in infrared filter (which is a bitch to shoot a macro, especially on a completely manual lens) with PP done through some custom presets I've made for various Photoshop filters.
