Morning WalkHopefully this image will not turn out to be as controversial as the Mandarine Bags. While I was visiting Madrid I got in contact with two old friends I used to work with. The old gentleman is now retired and seldom ventures out of home by himself now. He jumped at the oportunity to take a morning walk and catch up with us. We decided to try it again next time.

Nice. I think a B&W conversion would work a treat here.

I like this image. The old shutters and the old pillars compliment each other beautifully.

I too like this, but I think a level of desaturation would be really good, just to mute the colours rather than remove them back to B&W.

The black & white versionThank you for your comments. I have rotated the image a bit counter clock wise and turned the colour image into black and white, as suggested.

I really like this image, i would keep the colour the b&w is good but the colours in this really adds something all i would do is crop about two inches off the top and maybe add a very small amount of vignetting.
Out of the two, i like the color one. To me it just gives more character and really feel suckered into the picture
I'm with Brett: desaturate this, rather than B&W.
And crop it too: Kill everything above the second dark line on the ceiling. There's a big expanse of ... not too much ... that I don;t think this image needs. Regarding the "controversy" of the mandarine bags image: I don;t see that discussion as being controversial: You posted a wonderful image; one that might have been PotW had you managed to treat it with more sympathy. Regardless, that image coveyed a certain intimacy and timelessness that is rarely captured, and you did exceptionally well to capture that. The suggestions were offerred in an endeavour to help you improve your presentation of the image. Nothing controversial at all, IMHO. g.

Another attemptThanks again for the comments. This is my new attempt.
![]() The controversial part was on my family side and I should have asked their permission first. As you said, Gary, I personally took each member's comment as constructive help.
