One of the big things (for me) I was hoping for with this trip was some good photos of Mount Ruapehu - a mountain I have a sort-of spiritual connection with.

I got my wish, and in fact got closer to the summit than I had been before (we managed to get a scenic flight over the Central Plateau from Taupo - photo's from this to come ).

As a taster before I get really stuck into processing (which I'll try and do in some sort of order rather than randomly), here's a view from the Desert Road...

Come one Leon, one of the big things for you... it's so damn tiny on my screen. Can we please have a link to a larger version From what I can see its a good shot, my I'm almost going blind squinting at it.. (viewing on my 22" and haven't got use to the higher res yet).

Leon, one thing i really like is images of active volcanoes. This one is one of the better ones. It's fantastic matey, although i feel the foreground might be a tad too dark on my LCD screen. I reckon it will print beautifully though.
