Hi All,
I took the challenge and purchased a D200 a couple of months back.
I went out to featherdale wildlife park in Sydney last weekend and here are a couple of my favourites.
This is my first SLR, all previous shooting done with P&S.
Taken with the D200 with a 17-50mm f2.8 Tamron lens.
No image editting except for resizing.

First up Rob, welcome to the forum. It is always nice to see someone posting pics with their first post. I like, in particular, the shot of the Koala but all three are very nice.

Welcome to the forum Rob. Enjoy.

All nice shots - especially since this is your first SLR.

The first image of the lizard possibly could have done with a little more DOF - the branch appears sharper than the lizard to me (maybe that's just my eyesight).

Possibly a crop all of these shots would highlight/isolate the subject more.

Cheers, Mick :) :) :)

Thanks for the feedback.
The lizard shot was difficult as It was indoors in low light, and I wasn't too keen on using the flash as I haven't worked out how to make the shot look natural with it yet.
It was shot hand held at 1/13 sec exposure at f2.8, and i was actually surprised it turned out at all. (hopefully i can get a tripod soon - but there is so much choice, i don't know what to get!)

cheers

Welcome rob. You might want to do a search on this forum for tripods as there has been some interesting posts about them. Just like most stuff, you get what you pay for.
Nice pic of the Kookaburra.
