More from our recent NZ trip - these were all taken along the Forgotten World highway on our way to Tongariro National Park.

This is one of the three volcanoes in the national park and is due to spew more than a million cubic metres of mud and rocks in the next month or so (see HERE for a story on this)

A single lane tunnel along the way. Image taken with the 10.5 DX fisheye and partially defished

and finally another pano - this one is stitched from 7 shots.

All great shots, Peter. I would have loved to see the tonel shot more centered.

The pano works nicely, although I'm not sure about the colours - it's a little washed out here.

Me too, but I was hesitant to set up in the middle of the road with my tripod. Eventually my desire for a shot overcame my fear. Is this one better

Man Peter you are making me so jealous, lovely lovely shots!

My favourite is the first, and then the pano, but the two pano shots are great.. not sure if I'd have thought to take them, but the fisheye does the job well.

the fisheye really makes the tunnel look a lot longer that what I remember it being when I passed by that way a couple of days later
I took a few quick shots but they were nothing like this and were deleted when I got home

Peter,

really like the first one, nice colours and composition, looks even nicer in the large version. I also like the summit photo (the 5078 one) you have in the gallery.

Which tripod and ballhead did you take with you in the end?

Cheers,

André

Thanks for the feedback people.

Geoff - we didn't have the time to do the Tongariro crossing

Keith - only the first tunnel shot is with the fisheye. The second was with the 12-24

André - I took my RRS BH55-Pro ballhead and a new Benro A-228 Aluminum 4 section Tripod. Just fit in my luggage and was priced right ($156 on ebay)
