Hi All,

I photographed a wedding a couple of weeks ago and I'm at a point of going through all the photos I took but, I can't seem to really crack this shot. It's one of those 'bride look in the mirror' shots and at the moment I need some help in regards to what looks best.

Here is the photo. The lighting in this room was a warm golden colour all over and as expected with the type of wall paper and coloured furniture etc and the photo came out looking very golden. So I decided to play with the RGB colours and this is what I came up with. Does it work for you? or can you suggest what I should do with it?

Thanks again

Whats wrong with the original shot. While it may not be a true reflection of the room colours it has a wamer feel about it that looks better to me.

I agree with Barry - the original looks so much better than the PP’d version :)

The original looks great. The 2nd one has WB too cool.

warm tones work better. both look underexposed to me. i would crop to portrait to get rid of the wall ornament details, i find them distracting. then again i find the whole composition distracting, but thats just me. the % of her face/body ratio to the entire picture is too small.

I too like the first warm shot more than the colder bluer second image.
I also agree about cropping to make the bride a larger part of the image. Maybe crop just to right of lamp and take a little off the mirror frame on the left. Crop off the top third of the shot and part of the bottom of the frame so the shot stays as a landscape orientation but with the bride a bigger part of it.
The window blind and house outside the window is unfortunate. You could replace these but that's a bigger job and the bride might want the actual thing, not some artistic photoshopping.

Cheers
John

Ok. Thanks again guys, you've been most helpful.

I've digested all you valuable comments and gone with John's recommendations. Does this look better?

Mind you this was taken at the reception place in Dural called Springfield. It's one of those country style ranch places and the day was very poor for lighting as it was raining rather heavy for most of the day.

I like this heaps better. You can see more detail in the brides face and in the flowers. I must admit I didn't even notice the flowers in the first image.

I think the happy couple would be very pleased with the 3rd version.

Hi,
yes I like the bride, the details of the flowers, the crop and the warm tones but I think it would be worth the effort of removing the white object in the lower left corner (replace with blind details) - its simply ugly, distracting and does not belong.
Hope you included the lovely antique picture in another shot - it adds to the romantic feel and adds family history.

It's a major improvement from the first photo. You can concentrate more now on the bride and there are less things to distract you.
