"The Used" - Canon EOS-1D Mark II, 24-105 at 24mm ISO200 f/4 1/5000s

Whipped into Ikea this afternoon for a quick hot dog and a drink on the way out from town (darn they taste good for $2). Didn't really want to leave my camera on the back seat of the car (yeah sure, just chuck a jumper over it) and cbf locking it into the boot so had it with me.

Was on the way back out to the car park with half a Coke on my left hand and my camera on my right when that ^ photo presented itself. Very much a spur of the moment thing, I usually tend to be a bit more pedantic and line things like walls and horizons up - not sure if the sloping line works here or not. Small crop of the left and the colour treatment just to take the zing out of those walls a bit.

Thoughts? C&C?

I think it's half of a good photo. I think it would be better with more of the little kid, the hand of the mum dragging him along, and the yellow background encompassing the rest of the image.

Strangely, I half expected a picture of the band "The Used" in this thread.

Interesting angular light falling across the kids face. I would crop this shot harder.

i like it a lot cause its not the typical good shot as its not straight and the color
treatment which gives it that suburbia feel.
