Took the processing a little differently on this. Applied some contrast and then the cutout filter to get the silhouette effect.
Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's effective

I like it. The ape's pose is quintessential, so the silhouette works well.
I' probably crop away some at the bottom (get rid of the grass) and left (to keep the aspect). It seems an even stronger composition that way. YMMV.

Cheers fellas. I kinda like the grass at the bottom - gives it a bit more context to me, but I appreciate the suggestion, thanks.
