It has been a while since I have taken any coffee related photos, but I decided to set up the lights and have a go.

Love the extreme B&W treatment on 2 and 3 just makes me want a coffee NOW. I would have liked a little more DOF towards the front on 4 personally to show of the whole espresso as this is the focus for me personally.

Shame Cibo is closed otherwise I may have been tempted to go and get one right now!

Thanks Brett, I wasn't happy with No 4 either - I tried to get the DOF and lighting right, but I couldn't. Regardless, it tasted great when I finally drank it.

The coffee used was bought from Mecca on King Street, Sydney. The reason I raise this is because they use a Mistral which is one of the nicest machines I have ever seen.

For me,.. #1 and #2 are nice....#3 has too many blown highlights, which overwhelm the pale coffee coming out of the machine.#4 ...well the OOF cup in the foreground doesn't work for me.. especialy with the coffee splats on the cup and the coffee level on the side of the cup where it has been tipped. For me it would be a much better photo if the printing on the inner rim of the cup was sharp and the splats and the dripping coffee level in the cup were not present.

Thanks for the comments Shakey, and basically agree with your comments on No 4 - I really only included the shot to complete the series from start of coffee making process through to the end, although I didn't really like the results of the end.

Yum, as I drink my morning coffee from my favourite coffee shop, I love the image of the creamy coffee flowing from the machine!!!

Like the series, last one, would loved to have seen a similar point of focus on the cup (as per #1).
