Took the family down to Rosebud & around the Mornington Peninsula over the long weekend, and came away with a few "keepers".

C&C most welcome....

Dave,

1-3 are great. The two portraits are excellently lit even though it looks like there were taken in harsh afternoon sunlight. The beach shot is great perspective wise.

Have to say I agree with that. I love those eyes.

Yep, agree, number 2 is great. She is a little cutie!

I really like number 3 also, gives a feeling of remoteness, yet fun all in the one image. Would have been GREAT if she was looking at you, but you can't win em all!

Nice images all round. Well done!

:D

Thanks for all the kind comments.
My favourite is of course #2. It's just a pity that the background is of a table corner and some pillows....but I guess sometimes the opportunity for a nice photo doesn't always provide a great backdrop

Just to add a bit more info:
no. 1 & 2 were both taken with the SB800 (#1 pointed directly with diffuser attached - no.2 bounced off ceiling).

Raskill - you hit the nail on the head. My thought process as soon as I lifted the camera to take the photo was one of "remoteness on the beach".

I actually waited until she wasn't looking at me, as I wanted to capture the feeling of her in her own world, alone on the beach....except for the boat and people off in the distance
