Did a folio shoot a couple of weekends ago - still processing a few more photos but thought I'd share some in the process
Hope you enjoy them.
Not totally fond of the LHS, but nothing much I can do right now. I did try to recompose on the day but the angle just didn't look right. I could have used fill flash but at the expense of some really sexy available light.

Hey Wayne,
The first one really shines!
The 2nd one does not do anything for me, not for the LHS of the photo, but her pose looks very unnatural to me. The tones are really nice in this one though.

I actually am the opposite, I like the second , really like the lighting and the pose.. (perhaps a squarer crop?)
The first one, I can see tree between the arms and torso on the left side, and the colours look a bit muddy on my screen. Not crazy on the pose either.

Also for the 2nd shot, I think I'd prefer to either see no feet at all or both, one feet out just looks a bit off to me.

I agree with the foot thing, 2 feet or no feet would be better then a lonely one. Unless you
model only has 1 foot. In which case I am truely sorry.

Thanks for the comments - I'll try and clone out the foot but if it looks like she's floating on the grass, then i'll keep it in.

Beautiful photos and the subject is gorgeous. I love the lighting and the strong contrast it produces (and did I mention the subject is gorgeous).

Not bad but the backgrounds demand too much attention. Try keeping your
model 10 metres from anything and shoot at F5.6. The background then becomes a dream.

Thanks Matt - will take that 10m advice into consideration
In hindsight I should have taken those shots away from the tree as I'd already used it a fair bit. Gotta love 20-20 hindsight

Lovely light, and posing. Very nice!!!
On the second one, with the upper left side, depending on your workflow and volumes, just using a very large black brush, opacity 30%, darkens down the area, if PP suitable.
Or simply use the Burn in tool?

Bruce - Tried the brush and burn approaches but neither worked. I ended up using burn without making it too unrealistic and crap.

on the second, just feedback on what I might say to her...
I'd ask her to flick her hair behind/off her shoulder. I go with the rule of hair over, or not, but not in between. For example, in the second, the hair over her right (camera left) shoulder breaks the leading lines (tree, arms etc.
These two are good examples. The first has a the bulk of hair over the shoulder (left side).

nice tone man!
the grey of the tree doesnt distract the skin tones or the red dress but on the 2nd i dont like the brightnessof the LHS
you could of fixed this by shooting later in the day when there is much less ambient light, from your flash you would of got the same lighting effect on the
model and tree
by the way wheres all your travel photos?
