Took my D200 along to my mate's wedding on the weekend. Here are a couple of shots..

First 3 are with the 70-200, last is the 18-200
First two are natural light shots in the church

I think I'm getting better, but there's still some things that I would do differently next time. Tough, tough gig. I tried to stay off to the side and stay out of the official photog's way, and I sure wouldn't want to do it for a living. Way too much pressure :)

The gallery with the rest of the pics is at http://thesystemisdown.com/gallery/thum ... p?album=38 if you are interested :)

I like the third image.

The first two look out of focus or very soft.

Yeah, the third one is a cracker. I caught them just at the right moment in the father of the groom's speech :)

And yep, the first couple are pretty soft. Shoulda seen the ones I rejected ;) Luckily I had ISO1600, f/2.8 and VR, otherwise they would have been worse!!!!

My technique is getting better, but I still tend to stab at the shutter release when I'm trying to shoot quickly. Also, I think I could have PPed them a bit better. I've used NR, and then tried to hide the resultant softness with sharpening. In hindsight, I would have used a lot less NR, you simply don't notice the noise as much at web or 4x6 print sizes.

How's that S5 Pro going? Hell, if I was doing this wedding caper more often, I would definitely seriously consider one. I think a lot of my problems centred around trying to get around the D200's noise.
