I really like number 2. It would have been better (IMHO) if she had been looking at you without a care, but you can't win em all. Nice use of DOF and great lighting. Well done.

I like the beer tap also, I would be tempted to bring out the white a bit more and try to get rid of some off the tint from the lights. Again, great use of DOF.

Nice. I seem to recall falling out of that place (hardly a 'palace') a few times. Usually, and unfortunately, on my own...

Thanks - it was great fun photographing there and the light was fantastic! I just wanted to travel light so I packed the 50 and the camera and went down - Im happy with the results!

Definitely fix the white in the beer tap - brb!  PS: Selective color doesnt bring it out white enough, whats the best way in CS2 to do this?

shooting at widest aperture can alllow some some beautiful effects
number 2 is a great example
very nice isolation there with light

Thanks guys! I learnt alot of PP with 4, the colors were way off on the beer sign and still a tad off for the glow from the fridge behind it but I really like the effect its produced!

You posted these on a Sunday night at 7.20 pm - I wouldn't be too concerned that between then and 6:38 am the next morning you'd only had a few comments. Typically weekends are quieter and my experience is that many people will have a quick look and not comment when they are busy with other things (like preparing themselves for the onslaught of the working week). lack of comments certainly doesn't mean the images are bad. I wonder, also, if the "Please comment on my Flickr" comment confused some people who thought you were asking them to go place comments on Flickr rather than here.

Case in point - I looked at these last night and liked them. I was too busy to take the time to comment and hence came back today.

The first image is great. I like the lighting and composition. I'm guessing the tight cropping was due to the limits of the 50mm lens and an inability to "zoom with your feet" or perhaps some stray elements that distracted from the image, but it would have been nice to see the entire globe in shot. Regardless this is a fine image.

#2 & #4 I pretty much agree with Alex and think the rework on #4 has improved it out of sight.

#3 is my second pick of this group and again has great lighting.

Thanks for the comments and tips. The light globe was on the ceiling, the RAW file may have the entire globe ill check tonight and repost it for you to see. #4 happy with this, thanks to Alex for pointing me in the right direction with the curves. It was just a matter of finding where in the beer tap was the best place to set the white point - worked nicely.
